GPT Image 2.5 API: What to Verify Before Accepting an Integration

Integration choice or actionWhat the records establishWhat they do not establishAcceptance checkHow to interpret the result
Identify the service and model used by the requestNamed Flare and Sunburst comparisons produced different results depending on the operation. An attractive image does not establish which model handled a request. There is no evidence here for your endpoint, authentication or account access.Record the service and model selection actually used, alongside the returned result. If the route or model remains unknown, leave the integration unverified. Do not choose a variant from appearance alone.
Compare variants before committing an editing workflowIn a product-image quality sequence, Sunburst retained the case, camera angle and reflection; Flare changed framing or case geometry. This does not establish a universal winner or guarantee that increasing quality preserves composition.Compare the output with the approved input. Inspect framing, proportions and reflections separately from detail.Reject an unwanted composition change even when the new image looks sharper.
Check the image passed into each editing stepA portrait sequence used the previous output as the next input. Faces survived, while an omitted object disappeared in both variants. The sequence does not establish how your API represents conversation state or reference inputs. Preserved faces do not prove that every object survived.Verify the intended input image for the next request, then inspect each protected object in the result.Correct the input or preservation requirement before continuing the chain.
Validate the returned file against the delivery requirementA request for a larger image produced a sharper-looking result without changing its dimensions.Visual sharpness does not establish the returned pixel dimensions or prove that a requested size was applied.Read the dimensions of the actual returned file and compare them with the delivery requirement. If the dimensions fail, reject the file for that delivery, regardless of its apparent detail.
Resolve uncertain completion before deciding what happenedA browser workflow displayed a delay message, and some results appeared later.A browser delay does not establish API timeout behaviour, cancellation, retry safety or billing.Inspect the actual API response and any documented completion information available for that request.Without a confirmed outcome, mark completion unresolved. Do not describe the request as cancelled or safe to repeat.

## Move through the acceptance gates

Use this order as a review procedure. It is an editorial framework, not a measured reliability claim.

Connection evidence comes first. Establish that your own integration can submit a request through the intended service and obtain its documented response. Image comparisons cannot supply missing authentication, endpoint or request-format evidence. Until that evidence exists, the outcome is integration unverified.

Then check the operation. Confirm which image entered the request and what was supposed to change. For a continued edit, inspect the protected objects as well as the requested alteration. A recognizable face can coexist with a missing sign. Better detail can coexist with changed product geometry.

Finally, accept the asset. Check the returned file against the actual delivery requirement: dimensions, required content and preservation of approved elements. A returned image can fail this gate. Record that outcome as response obtained; asset rejected.

Accept the workflow only when the connection, operation and asset checks all pass under the recorded conditions. That decision applies to those conditions; it does not establish that every later request will behave the same way.

## When the result remains unresolved

An unlabeled image cannot settle a Flare-versus-Sunburst decision. Establish the model selection before attributing the result to either variant.

A delay message cannot settle whether an API request stopped. The observed browser behaviour supplies no basis for choosing a retry interval, assuming cancellation or predicting another charge. Obtain request-specific completion evidence before making that decision.

An image that preserves identity but loses another required object has passed only part of the visual check. Keep the failed requirement visible in the acceptance record. Do not let a convincing portrait erase an incomplete edit.

## Claims this page cannot support

There is no evidence here for a working authentication configuration, a portable request body, a fixed price, an account quota or a safe retry policy. This page therefore supplies no copy-and-run API example or recommended configuration.

There is also no basis for claiming that higher quality always protects composition, that a sharper image has larger dimensions, or that a browser timeout proves generation ended.

Keep those questions open until the relevant evidence exists. A successful connection and an acceptable image are separate decisions, and each needs its own check.
